1. About YMP

Your Migration Partner Pty Ltd operates a digital platform that connects users with independent Registered Migration Agents registered with the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority.

YMP is not a Registered Migration Agent and does not provide migration advice, legal advice, visa assistance, immigration representation or visa lodgement services.

Any migration advice or professional migration service is provided by the Registered Migration Agent selected or booked by the user.

2. What Personal Information We Collect

The personal information we collect depends on how you use the platform.

When you create an account, we may collect your full name, email address, password or encrypted login credentials, and confirmation that you accepted the YMP Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

When you complete a pre-consultation form, enquiry form, booking form or profile form, we may collect information such as your phone number, nationality, country of passport, current visa type, visa expiry date, previous visa refusals or cancellations, education history, employment history, English test scores, skills assessment status, relationship or family details, immigration goals, preferred visa pathway, budget or service preference, and any other information you choose to provide.

3. Uploaded Documents

The platform may allow you to upload documents before a consultation or in connection with a migration-related enquiry or service.

Uploaded documents may relate to your identity, education, employment, English test results, skills assessment, visa history, relationship circumstances, financial position or other matters relevant to your enquiry.

YMP does not require users to upload unnecessary sensitive documents and may recommend that users avoid uploading highly sensitive documents unless relevant to the consultation or service.

You are responsible for ensuring that any documents you upload are lawful, accurate, complete and not misleading.

4. Resource, Guide and Document Access Information

YMP may provide access to guides, brochures, checklists, downloadable resources, official media releases, government updates, templates, PDFs, spreadsheets and other platform documents.

Some resources or documents may only be available to users who create an account and log in.

When you access or download these materials, YMP may collect basic access records such as your account, the document accessed, date and time of access, and related technical records for platform operation, security, resource management and user support.

5. Blogs, News and Platform Content

YMP may publish blogs, immigration news, updates, articles, videos, social media content and other general information.

If you read this content while logged in, YMP may collect basic technical and account activity records connected with your use of the platform.

6. Booking, Payment and Transaction Information

When you book or pay for a consultation or service through the platform, we may collect booking details, appointment date and time, selected agent, service type, payment amount, transaction status, refund or cancellation information, and payment confirmation records.

Payments are processed through third-party payment providers such as Stripe. YMP does not store your full credit card or debit card details.

7. Forum, Review and Platform Content

When you use platform features, we may collect forum questions submitted by you, admin moderation records, reviews or ratings submitted by you, messages or communications sent through the platform, support requests and account activity associated with your use of the platform.

Forum questions may be displayed publicly without showing your name or username. However, YMP may internally associate forum posts with your account for moderation, compliance, security and platform management purposes.

8. Technical and Security Information

When you use the platform, we may collect limited technical information necessary to operate and protect the platform.

This may include IP address, device type, browser type, operating system, login activity, date and time of access, security logs, document access or download records, and basic platform usage records.

YMP does not currently use third-party analytics tools or advertising pixels. If YMP introduces analytics tools, advertising pixels or similar tracking technologies in the future, this Privacy Policy may be updated and any required notices or consent mechanisms may be implemented.

9. Sensitive Information

Sensitive information may include information about health, criminal history, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, biometric information, government identifiers or other information given higher protection under privacy law.

YMP does not intentionally request sensitive information unless it is reasonably necessary for the relevant service, consultation, platform function, legal obligation or another lawful purpose.

Because migration matters can involve personal circumstances, and because users may choose to upload documents or provide detailed background information, YMP may receive sensitive information if you voluntarily provide it.

If you do not want YMP or an agent to receive sensitive information, you should not upload or submit that information unless it is necessary for your consultation or service.

10. How We Collect Personal Information

We collect personal information directly from you when you create an account, complete forms, book consultations or services, upload documents, access or download resources, read blogs or platform content while logged in, submit forum questions or reviews, communicate with YMP, use platform features, or make transactions through payment providers.

We may also collect information from selected agents where necessary to manage bookings, disputes, payments, platform records or support requests.

We collect personal information only by lawful and fair means.

11. Why We Collect and Use Personal Information

YMP collects and uses personal information to create and manage user accounts, operate and improve the platform, connect users with Registered Migration Agents, allow users to book consultations and services, provide pre-consultation information to selected agents, manage access to resources and documents, publish and manage content, process payments and refunds, send booking confirmations and reminders, manage cancellations and disputes, moderate forum questions and reviews, respond to support requests, maintain platform security, comply with legal obligations and enforce YMP’s Terms of Service and platform policies.

YMP does not use personal information to provide migration advice. Migration advice is provided only by Registered Migration Agents or other authorised professionals.

12. Disclosure of Personal Information

YMP may disclose personal information where reasonably necessary to selected Registered Migration Agents, authorised YMP administrators, staff, contractors, technical support or service providers, payment providers, technology providers, professional advisers, regulators, courts, law enforcement agencies, government authorities or other parties where required or authorised by law.

When you book a consultation or service, information you provide through the relevant form may be shared with the agent you selected or booked. This may include your contact details, visa background, education and employment history, immigration goals, uploaded documents and other information relevant to the consultation or service.

Your completed form and uploaded documents are not shared with all agents. They are shared only with the agent you book or select, unless you authorise otherwise or disclosure is required by law.

YMP does not ordinarily share user information with the Department of Home Affairs or government departments. However, information may be disclosed if required by law, court order, regulator request, legal process or where disclosure is authorised by you.

13. Marketing Communications

YMP may use your email address to send marketing communications, including migration updates, platform updates, newsletters, blog updates, resource updates or promotional emails.

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe function where available or by contacting YMP at info@yourmigrationpartner.com.

Even if you unsubscribe from marketing emails, YMP may still send important service-related communications, including account emails, booking confirmations, payment receipts, password resets, consultation reminders, legal notices, security notices and support messages.

YMP does not sell, rent or trade your personal information for marketing purposes.

14. Video, Audio and Consultation Chat

YMP does not record video consultations, audio consultations or text consultation chats by default.

YMP does not store consultation chat history by default.

Agents may keep their own professional notes or records in accordance with their professional obligations, client agreements and applicable laws. YMP is not responsible for records independently created or retained by agents outside the YMP platform.

YMP may retain limited booking metadata, such as consultation date, time, selected agent, booking status, payment status and service type, for operational, dispute, payment and legal purposes.

15. Public Forum

The platform may allow users to submit questions to a public forum.

Forum questions may be reviewed by YMP before publication. YMP may approve, reject, edit, remove or moderate forum questions.

Public forum questions may be published without displaying your name or username. However, YMP may internally associate forum content with your user account for moderation, security, compliance, dispute handling, platform integrity and safety purposes.

You should not include sensitive personal information, passport numbers, visa grant numbers, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, identity document numbers, Department of Home Affairs reference numbers or other identifying information in public forum questions.

16. Cookies and Similar Technologies

YMP may use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for platform functionality, including login sessions, account security and platform performance.

YMP does not currently use third-party analytics tools or advertising pixels.

If YMP introduces analytics, advertising pixels or similar tracking technologies in the future, this Privacy Policy may be updated and any required notices or consent mechanisms may be implemented.

You may configure your browser to refuse cookies. However, some platform features may not work properly if cookies are disabled.

If YMP becomes aware of a data breach involving personal information, YMP will assess the breach and take reasonable steps to contain, investigate and remediate it.

Where YMP is required to do so under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, YMP will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner of an eligible data breach that is likely to result in serious harm.
